Welcome to South Skye's 'garden'
where the soft rolling hills merge with the sea and sky

Sunrises, sunsets and the ever changing mood of the sea create a tapestry of colour all year round.   Add in the local wildlife to this scene and you have a magical area to explore and experience during your stay.

Sleat’s ‘garden’ provides a backdrop of bluebells, primroses and rhododendrons during the spring with the wild flowers of summer growing in the grass verges and hedgerows along the narrow winding roads.

The autumn months see the leaves on the trees turn shades of gold and red with the rowan berries providing red jewelled fruit for the birds. On the hills, the bracken turns orange and gold which provides a warm hue during the winter months.

As with all good gardens, Sleat provides a natural haven for wildlife and our residents include golden and sea eagles, bird-life, deer and  with otters, basking sharks, dolphins and seals quite at home along our rugged shoreline.

If all this wasn’t enough, we offer good food, quality accommodation and a variety of things to see and do however active or relaxed you want your holiday to be. Sleat is at the heart of some of Scotland's finest scenery and  a great base to explore more of Skye, Lochalsh, Wester Ross and Lochaber.

Sleat is lively, exciting and beautiful – a place where you get a feel of a Highland community at work where we strive to maintain the natural beauty of this unique environment. You will be most welcome!

Winter wonderland!

Winter comes to Sleat. December saw record low temperatures but produced some wonderful frosty scenes. This was on the Ord Road on Christmas Eve.
